The November Super Post

Here goes a super post about all of the adventures we’ve been on for the past month.

First off, at the very beginning of November, we headed off to Provo to relive the glory days of college. We’re not sure if the biggest motivator was to see our family or to see a BYU football game. Pretty sure football always pulls rank. It was great to see campus, and to visit the people we love (that goes for both family and the football players).

The day after getting home, Beckett and I embarked on another fun filled adventure to Houston to visit our Whittle friends. Beckett loved little Adalyn and we hope she liked him too. It was fun to show Allison and Tyler what fun they soon have to look forward to when they have a little crawler. We had such a great time visiting them and hope to see them again soon.

The week after that we took a short break from traveling to hang out with dad and here are some random pictures from that. We celebrated Elizabeth’s birthday and now Beckett can’t wait to turn one!

Then, just last week we flew to the true north strong and free for Beth and Brenan’s wedding. It was such a beautiful day and we loved every minute of being home.

We’re now home for a month before heading to Dallas for Fori and Elin’s wedding.

Gone Sailing . . .

This Saturday we went sailing with our good friend Rob Aird and his dad, Richard, who was in town for the weekend. Rob arranged a charter trip on an authentic wooden yacht, the "Amethyst", captained by Capt. Mack (www.GoSailNow.com):

We spent three hours sailing up the coast from Marina del Rey to Malibu and then back. One of the highlights of the trip was the dolphins:

We had such a good time. However, sailing can be exhausting, and Captain Beckett didn't last.












Later that night, we attended a trunk-or-treat hosted by the three wards that meet in our building. Beckett went as a chicken, costume courtesy of Grandma Roberts.

Every time I get onto my blog I realize how long it's been since the last post, yet, I don't do anything about it. This is only due to the fact that I've had absolutely nothing to post about. But today I've had it. I'm so sick of seeing the same thing every time I get on our page, so here's me doing something about it. I'm sorry for all of you who were feeling that same way each time you checked to see something new.
I just downloaded some pictures, and am currently realizing that we have been doing some fun things lately. Hmm....what can I tell you about?
My crafts:
Craft #1: I have been learning more about graphic design and just did Emery's baby announcement. Here's a picture of the sweet girl. (btw...I'm not a professional photographer). Oh and the second picture would have been cute if it was clearer and she didn't have spit up running down her face...

Craft #2: I redid our bedroom. However, I can't post pictures of it quite yet, cause it's not totally and completely finished. Stay tuned for pictures soon.
Craft #3: I've been sewing some fun things, but again, not finished so I can't tell you/show you
In other news:

We went out to dinner the other night with the Eavs and had a great time. Here are some pictures of our night out. (This first picture is Beckett's crazed lunatic look...)General Conference was great to watch, however it was a little bit different this time around watching it with the kiddos. Arleigh celebrated her 2nd birthday with a really fun party last week. Here are a couple pictures of the birthday girl.Hanging with Hunka D, Auntie P and the girls. Aunt Paula has done a fantastic job of playing the 'feed Beckett anything and everything and get lots of smiles' roll. Here's Aunt Paula, Beckett and a cream puff. This post is mainly for Ben and Ryanne. . . really it's just a bunch of random pictures I've taken lately.

Boys and their toys. Beckett's toy bear is appropriate. Nathan with his head set and controller in hand...appropriate? I'm not even going to tell you what day of the week this was.Beckett is getting so big. . . he doesn't even look like a baby to me anymore. What a little man.

TOOFERS! This is the real reason I needed to post. I've been telling you all about these teeth he has, but no one believes me. . . cause I haven't posted the proof. He has four. Two on top, two on the bottom. Recently he's learned what a reaction he gets from people when he shows them off. Usually the smile is a bit more crooked then the one shown here. Normally he lines up the top right tooth with the bottom left and gives it his all. I get an array of reactions from people.

Yesterday Beckett and I were driving to meet our friends Michelle and Elizabeth for a little shopping excursion. While we were driving down the wretched 405 freeway I realized that Beckett was making some weird grunting noises. I turned around to see what the problem was and when I looked back at him I realized that all the grunting was in an effort to turn his head in such a way that he could see me out of the back of his car seat. I turned around to see the sweetest, cutest, most sincere smile. When I looked at him he was so excited that his trick had worked and he just giggled. It melted my heart.

The other night Beckett was giving me all these sweet faces, so I got out the camera and took a few pictures. What a sweetie!

This last picture was one day as I was feeding Beckett, I had almost finished and he was SO clean. I was so proud of myself and of him for being so clean. THEN, he realized that he could put in thumb in his mouth and then smear it all over his face. This is the messiest he's ever been. Notice the high chair tray is super clean.

Beckett has become quite a talker. Here is a video of him jabbering and making all sorts of noises. Notice that he is standing up on the side of the couch all by himself. He thinks he's pretty hot stuff.

Last week, Beckett had fallen asleep in his jumper, but as he fell asleep he would twitch, which caused the song on the jumper to start. In his sub-conscience he would start jumping and then fade...however, he never opened his eyes. I think he was totally asleep through the whole thing. It was hilarious.

All sorts of new-s

Okay, okay…I know I’ve continued to be a slacker. I feel like this thing has become my journal where I start every entry with “Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve written”. And then I follow that with “I promise to be better at writing…”

Life is so great right now! There are all sorts of new-s in our lives right now. That’s not news like in a newspaper, but ‘new’-s like new things going on. Beckett’s got a whole list of new-s and then we’ll get to the other things.
Beckett’s first, and most exciting new thing is his new tooth. I haven’t been able to get a picture of it, but it’s razor sharp and pretty dang cute. We were at a party on Saturday and I was talking to a friend. She was like “oh, Beckett’s getting a tooth” and I thought she was referring to the two puffy mounds on his upper gums (the two that will soon be coming in), so I commented on those two. Then she’s like, ‘well, what about that bottom one?’ I freaked out. I didn’t know about any bottom one. Anyway-I got pretty excited. Nathan thought I was going to cry, cause I got all red in the face, but anyone who knows me knows that’s just what happens when I get excited. So, no…I wasn’t going to cry, I was just very excited. (When this is the only thing you do, day-in day-out, it’s a big deal.) Anyway-he’s done very well with teething so far (as you can tell by the fact that we didn’t even know it was happening till it had).
The second new for Beckett is that he’s rolling around. As illustrated by the pictures below. He’s become very good at it. He goes from sitting, to face-planting forward where he sits for a minute, and finally flips over. He then gets frustrated being on his back, and so I help him up into the sitting position, where he starts through the entire process again. He’s a funny guy.

The next new is that he’s eating solids regularly now. And we’ve got the stink to prove it. He’s having big-boy #2’s now, and it’s really fun…especially yesterday when I left him with his diaper off (as I do every morning-to try and help him air out a little) and I came back to find a little surprise just for me!
So, those are some of Beckett’s new-s.
The other biggest news going on right now, are the mounds of babies being born all over the place.
Congratulations to Tyler and Juliana who had Baby Adalynn Elizabeth, and to Tyler and Allison who had Baby Adalyn Claudia. Also, our neighbors, Michael and Ashlee had Baby Emery last Friday and per Rachell’s request I have included pictures below. She had a c-section, but both baby and mommy are doing super. Emery is so tiny, it’s incredible. She’s awesome. I can’t wait to meet the other babies! Congrats to all of you.

In other news, we got a new bed, and it is fantastic. We are loving the ginormity of it. We got a California king, and since we still need the storage space, we kept it up on cinder blocks. Well, it’s a little humongous. But super comfy, and Beckett loves to sit on it while I sing, ‘you’re the king of the castle, and I’m the dirty rascal.” I'm currently in the process of re-doing our bedroom, so I'll post pictures of it when it's done.
He continues to be a constant source of love and joy. He’s such a happy baby…always full of smiles and giggles. I constantly find myself laughing at him. What a little man. I love him. Here are some pictures of what I’m talking about. I ordered these bows from a friend who just started a business making them (you should all check it out, bowdazzledboutique.com) and wanted to see how they looked on a baby. I’m really not a mean mom, but Beckett’s the only baby I’ve got at the minute, so I tried them on him. Poor little man was mad at me for making him look like a girl. Sorry buddy.

Nathan is also doing well and is super stoked for the game this Saturday. It’s all he talks about at the moment. We’ll be attending in spirit as we watch it on a friends 42” plasma. Good times.
Anyway- as I started this off as I do with my journals...I’ll finish it in the same way.

Sitting for Auntie P and Hunka D

Sorry (again) about the lack of blogging going on here. Nathan and I are house/cat sitting for my Aunt and Uncle for 10 days while they're in Hawaii. It has been a mini vacation for us as well, as they have a nice big house, with a yard, and grass, and a hammock, and everything. Good times. So, no pictures as of right now, but I'll get on it.
As for news about the little man. He is finally rolling over. Last night I checked on him and he was going one direction, and this morning I went in and he's going the opposite way. I love it. He babbles all the time, and is full of smiles and giggles for me. His favorite toy is a stuffed animal frog that croaks and he likes to chew on its eyes. He's eating solids, and so far his favorites are sweet potatoes, carrots and bananas. It's a fun stage, and I'm loving it.

There it is...now everyone needs to stop giving me such a hard time about this.
No, seriously though...I am so excited for Beth and Brenan. They are honestly so great together...the perfect fit. And who would have thought that they'd find each other at the BYU? I am looking forward to having Brenan as a brother-in-law and am excited for the wedding.
